March 11th, 2008[/.] MacBook Air Confuses Airport Security
Blogger Michael Nygard missed his flight because TSA airport security couldn’t figure out why his MacBook Air didn’t have a hard drive or ports. It wasn’t until a younger agent came over to clarify to his colleagues that the slim, shiny device was indeed a laptop and not a “device.”
Interestingly enough, the ensuing comments on Slashdot led to the debate between the usefulness of these types of “device” screenings. And someone actually had the gall to tell the rest of the population to fly a private plane instead waiting in security lines at airports. Yeah, like I can afford a Cessna or Gulftstream on my current income.
March 6th, 2008Apple SDK Arrives!
Live blog @ Engadget.
Yes, it has finally arrived! For $99 you can purchase the SDK dev kit from Apple and start to create “cool” or “useful” apps (but apparently not “cool and useful” apps, according to Karl). Apps will be released in June as part of firmware upgrade for iPhone and guess what! You can *buy* them through AppStore. Well, that depends. Apple is allowing the devs set the price, which could be freeware or shareware.
I’m just glad I have my iPhone jailbroken. That week of hell was definitely worth it. Now to decide whether I should upgrade to 1.1.4 firmware…
